- April *19th - 22th - 24th Annual Lakefest (Ntl.Div.1) - Phoenix, AZ
- Starting the season off, EKR and the team found some extra horsepower and overpowered the boats current configuration. The Problem Child qualified in the number seven spot. First round elimations paired with Licker Quicker, Dale cut a .021 RT over Ron’s .361 to take the win. Dale had a hairy ride with the boat rocking laid down the quickest ET of the weekend 4.787@202.94 pulling the chutes in the lights causing the boat to push the nose in and settling down in the mid track in the shut down area. Unfortunatly the EKR team, while trying to make the necessary handling adjustments did not make the second round deadline and was out of competion for the weekend.

In a most unfortunate turn of events, at the nitro nationals on may 26th, Dale Ishimaru and the team problem child drag boat went from setting the fastest speed in history @263.60 mph in 4.69 seconds, to a violent crash during Sunday’s eliminations. Dale received multiple injuries and was in intensive care for more than a week. We are happy to announce that dale is now home with his family and on a long road to recovery.

On Friday after a day of thrashing Scott was able to get his half track pass in, part of the requirements to upgrade his drivers license from Pro Mod to Top Fuel. On Saturday first round the blower belt popped off on the start but on second round Scott laid down a full pass with a 5.36 ET giving him his Top Fuel driver license.
